Clean Apartments, Great Staff, Shady Surroundings

I have lived in Nellis Oasis Suites for several months, and have one more month left in my lease. The management is very friendly here, and my apartment was very clean when I moved in.
There are adequate laundry rooms and facilities on-site. There is a large swimming pool area, a basketball court, and several BBQ grills in the lawn areas. Each room has a large Roman Tub.
The only problem with this place is the surrounding area. Lately, more and more gang graffiti is showing up on the walls and in stairwells of the complex. The liquor store next door probably doesn't help the area much.
At night, you'll usually find shady people hanging around on the lawn areas of the complex, or sitting outside of their apartments with this radios cranked up. I frequently find empty beer bottles in stairwells and on the lawn when I leave for work early in the morning.
Quite a few of my neighbors don't appear to have jobs. They sit outside their apartments all day long and all night long, playing their radios very loudly, talking loudly, checking out passing cars. It could make a person uncomfortable if they are not used to a college dorm atmosphere.
Overall this is a fine place, but the recent gang activity in the area has me a bit concerned. Although the complex does provide night security, I wouldn't feel safe having my wife or kids walk around this place alone at night.
If you are single and don't mind the shady activites that take place outside, this place is a great deal. All utilities are included, and the apartments are well kept. If surrounding area crime does worry you, you might want to look elsewhere.
