Like the person below, I too had horrible problems with Oasis Vinings. I had to break my lease and move after numerous security problems starting 5 minutes after I got my keys. Turns out the previous tenants were known drug dealers, and they forgot to tell their "customers" that they had moved. I had shady people coming to my apartment at all hours of the day and night looking to buy drugs. I even had drugs left outside my apartment! I had to call Metro 48 hours after I moved in to take care of what was left at my door. The security guard on staff at Oasis Vinings told me that night that I should buy a gun, but not a handgun, a shotgun cause that'll go through the door. That's so welcoming to a girl that just moved across country and had been in town 48 hours. It got worse from there. I was on the phone with Terry and Connie every day telling them about this, and they didn't care at all. The security guard told me that he knew there were drugs and prostitution going on in my apartment up until 3 days before I moved in and the management did nothing about it.
Then things got worse. Because they suck so much, Oasis Vinings started letting any heathen who would pay rent to move in. No background checks apparently. People moved in downstairs that literally must have just gotten out of prison. Didn't have money for electricity (seriously) so they'd sit outside all day and night *on my front steps* drinking and smoking pot. These people were intimidating, threatening me, stealing stuff off my porch and even tried to break into my apartment one Sunday night when I was home. I was a prisoner in my own apartment because I was too afraid to leave. I told management about this...their response' They told me not to call security or Metro because they were afraid that it would cause the people downstairs to retaliate. So after a month of this (my friends literally stopped coming over because they were too scared) I decided to break my lease and move because I honestly felt that at some point I was going to be raped and murdered. Oasis Vinings offered me a different apartment to move into (at my own expense mind you), except that it was in the building next door, within complete line of sight of these idiots downstairs. What use would that be' So after talking with Connie, I decided to break my lease and move. I was told by Connie on *3* different occasions that I would not be charged because of the special circumstances. I was told by Connie that the apartment complex couldn't kick the people out downstairs because they paid their rent and they wouldn't talk to them because they were afraid the tenants would retaliate against me. She encouraged me to leave. She gave me a "Intent to Vacate" notice that had right on it that I didn't owe them anything to break my lease.
Imagine my surprise when I went to my mailbox this weekend and discovered a bill from a collection agency for $1800! Turns out Oasis Vinings was going to charge me anyway and not even give me the courtesy of letting me know. I have perfect credit which is now going to be blemished because these idiots won't hold to their word. I just got into a fight with Terry because he says that I just up and left and that they tried to offer me a solution and I just did what I wanted. Except that I never spoke with Terry when all of this was going on. He didn't want to be bothered with me then. And he told me that Connie isn't authorized to make decisions on whether or not charges are waived. So I have an attorney and I'm going through the BBB to rectify this. I have a signed letter from Connie saying that I didn't owe anything, so I dare them to try and fight me on this.
If you're up to dealing with crime, a shady and incompetent management and a trashy looking complex, by all means, move right in. They certainly have a number of units available from the people moving out in droves. Like the security guard told me my second day there, if you're going to live there, make sure you buy a gun...but make sure it's a shotgun, cause a handgun just won't cut it.

i lived in a camden property and gave notice, we were told by connie that we would not have to pay anything cause our apt was rented out 5days after we left. a week later we got a bill for $1500 for breaking our lease and apt damage. we went back in and they "lost" the pictures of the "damage" and told us they would take off $500 but we still had to pay the $1000 for breaking the lease. connie told us 3-4 times we would not be charged since we gave notice and they rented it out.
do not live in any camden property.

We had the same thing happen to us...we couldn't stand being there anymore but actually stayed our full 1 year on the lease...we were told that we had to give 60 day notice or they would still consider us to be breaking the lease...Connie then told us that they would accept the 30 notice and that everything would be fine...we ended up months later getting bills from collection agency trying to bill me AND my husband seperately for breaking our lease, at $2400 a piece!!!! We HATED it there...the security was terrible...while we were moving out, someone broke into our apartment and when we came back the next day, we could tell that they had plenty of time to go through our belongings!! They had the time to sit and go through all of our stuff that was there and took what they wanted...the Terry and Connie couldn't care less...No one there cared...it was a TERRIBLE place to live...OH, and don't forget the mold...our kids were sick most of the time there and we didn't know what was wrong...once we moved out they were suddenly all better, none of the problems were there any more for them...then we saw on the news about the toxic mold...We saw the mold but didn't know that's what was making the kids sick until after we were out! They tried to put caulking over it to hide it when we complained about it...how's that for caring!! Definitely, I'd say do NOT move here!!!
