Not really good

Apartments are priced higher than others in the area (although others are in an even worse neighborhood).
Apartment maintainence tends to be prompt when you call them, but the apartments themselves have been badly neglected in the past. Office personnel say this is due to them taken over the complex a couple years ago and having to repair years of neglect. A number of construction projects have been on-going (water pipe work, pool refinishing, and the like), and the grounds are kept in reasonably good shape.
Surrounding neighborhood is not good - especially if you live on the side bordering other housing developments. Several windows broken by people from across security wall, and only one security guard at night for a huge complex - he walks by about once an hour. Recently added to security wall in sections, raising it from about 5' with metal railing to about 10'-12', but more work needs to be done in this department. I am told there are plans to raise the wall along other sections as well.
Excessive amounts of speedbumps throughout the property, with even more added in recently. Posted limit is 15mph, but they are crushers even at 5mph. Several friends with low-to-the-ground (from the factory) cars cannot get over some of them without scrapping. Rather annoying.
Is a good location, especially for students of UNLV. Is about a mile from the strip, a mile to UNLV, a mile from the airport.
Cox Communications provides cable TV and cable modem service, their reliability tends to be exceptional in this area. I have both, and have had my cable modem go out once, which was repaired in about 45 minutes.
Sprint provides local phone and DSL support. The DSL here (and, from what I'm told, in most of the city) is abysmal. The phone service is adequate, but be prepared for it to take forever to hook up. (Cable and Cable modem were installed in 3 days, Sprint took 20.)
Apartment hours are 9am-6pm, and have a customer service center that handles receiving and shipping of packages, amongst other services. The sole person I've ever seen running this area is pleasant to work with and tends to remember names after a couple times. Picking up and dropping off packages is rather painless.
