I moved into this building in 2006 and was happy enough to renew my lease despite the recent sale of the building. The original management staff was actually very nice but within 2 weeks of the sale they were all GONE! Since that time the staff has turned over no less than 3 times. Every turnover yields less and less caring people. They are working very hard on the cosmetics of the building (which were fine to begin with). Since buying the building and changing the name to "Broadstone at Flamingo West" they have painted the outside of the building and renovated the club house & offices at the expense of the good customer service that was available under the old owners and staff that were present when I originally moved in. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I have no major maintenance issues between now and when my lease is up because I have absolutely no faith that they will be addressed in any adequate manner. I have a minor maintenance issue that has been outstanding for quite some time and has been completely ignored with no explanation as to why. I am sorry to say that I am scared to go into more detail than that due to fear of being identified & possible reprisal from the staff du jour. It's hard to trust any staff that has turned over so many times. I also agree with some of the former renters that the rent is very high compared to what we get and the fact that you pay for everything (i.e. gas, water, trash, recycling, sewer) the original rent starts out at one figure and generally ends up being at least $100 more. This is not fully disclosed to the tenant upon lease signing the reason given is that "we won't know how much that is until you've been here 1 month and get your first bill". Well by that time you're trapped and it's too late isn't it' The old staff and former owner gave some customer service and was very responsive so I felt like I was paying alot but I was at least getting a responsive staff but that is no longer the case. I'm paying alot of money and getting nothing. It's also not a secure building. The gates are often malfunctioning and stuck open, the lock to the mail room has been broken over 1 week and the access to the gym is often locked off. (this is all since the new owners) The outside lighting leaves ALOT to be desired. If you are a person who gets home from work at night whether you're male or female I would think twice about living here for that reason alone....but there are definitely other reasons not to rent here.
