what's funny is that the management knew i was a single, 20 year old girl who just moved to las vegas from hawaii. so they put me in apartment #1509. they never told me that it had been broken into three times before in the past year or so. not so smart huh' i'd been living there for two months when i came home one night to find my front window shattered, and a man running out the back lanai. he broke my security box, took my cd player and my $1500 laptop. i found out from my neighbor that night that my apartment was a target for crime. i went straight to management the next day and they said they would allow me to break my lease without paying anything. they were probably scared i would sue because they had put me in such an unsafe place without telling me any of the apartment's history. now, several months later, they've sent collectors after me for some unpaid water bill for the last month i was there. (i didn't even stay in the apartment for the last month after i had been broken in to. i stayed with a friend. would you have stayed there') i say when they buy me a new laptop then i'll give them their $100 for the water bill.

Your final water bill isn't from the last month of your lease, weather you stayed with a friend or not! It's from the last month you physically lived there!
