The remodeled units in this complex are nice. Great floor-plan, good windows (lots of natural light), vaulted ceilings in some units. The construction is somewhat flimsy: cheap materials installed haphazardly, but altogether not bad (for example, the laminate flooring that looks like hardwood had bubbles, warps, and nicks in it the day I moved in and my apartment had been newly remodeled).

The complex can be noisy at times, but no noisier than you would expect in a regular neighborhood.

The generally favorable rating I would give this apartment complex is far outweighed by the negative rating I would give to management. And let me be clear: I'm not talking about the staff in the front office--they are cheerful, nice people--I'm talking about the higher management. They have a generally hostile attitude toward tenants. They'd rather be bullies than work with you when they perceive there to be a problem. For example, I had questions when the rent went up and went to speak with a manager. Rather than respond to my questions with an explanation as to the rent increase, she simply insisted over and over again that "this is just how it works."

I'm moving out for reasons unrelated to the conditions at Renaissance Villas, but if a friend told me he or she was looking for a place to live, I wouldn't recommend it.

I agree with you about the hiarchy; they lack basic people skills, not to mention any real concern for the safety of the tenants. Other than that it really isn't THAT bad, I've heard about worse places to live in this city.

I agree about the management - they always seem to have a chip on their shoulders and ready for confrontation. They need some lessons on customer service and need to polish up on their people skills
