You might want to keep looking. When we first showed up the told us it would be a little while till me got to move in due to a "small" roach problem. We asked if we could see how bad it was before agreeing to it, and they took us over. It was HORRIBLE they were everywhere, on the floor, counters, walls. we asked for another apartment, and they agreed. But there's nothing really great about the new one either. The dishwasher is terrible, we have to tape our dryer shut, the heat didn't work for a while, and we have ants coming out of the faucet in the bathtub, and the Carpet is Filthy. The office staff and most of our neighbors seem nice, but i'm sure you can do better
