Las Vegas isn't the easiest place to find quality housing, most of the time the majority of apartments are poorly built...but in the case of San Moritz, it's pretty BAD. THE WALLS ARE LIKE PAPER!!! I can hear my neighbor and their friends talking and laughing through the wall at 3am, but let's not forget that our schedules are on different ends of the clock, so I have to deal with hearing their rap music coming through the wall, directly next to my bed while I am trying to sleep and most times I am woken up by it. I called the office to have them talk to my neighbor, seems as they are good friends with the manager, so I get to deal with the music which wakes me up after a half nights sleep. Oh, I went and tried to talk to my neighbor when the music is blaring...they don't answer the door. Like I said, the walls are paper thin, if my neighbor is doing laundry, I can hear their washer and dryer.
Also, when the wonderful Las Vegas wind kicks up, the windows whistle, and of course, one of my windows doesn't even work properly. It is a major struggle every time I try to open or close it.
This morning I got catapulted from bed by them testing the building alarm systems...gee, I would have like to have been notified about that before hand!
Safety is a constant issue here. Right after I moved into the complex, there was a STRING of car robberies. The office staff did not bother to mention about that when they rented the apartment to me. After that, I had to be nervous for 2 weeks to know if I'm getting all of my mail as we had our mailboxes vandalized and our mail stolen. They have since replaced the mailboxes, but now I get to wonder if I got all of my mail or not. Car robberies, mail theft, noisy neighbors, yeah, I want to keep living here. NOT!
The only thing I can say that is truly positive about my apartment is that the closets are huge. However, the kitchen storage is pitiful as is the set up for the bathrooms. There are NO medicine cabinets, so if you need one, don't look here.
Landscaping...yes, it's beautiful and well maintained, however, the trees that they have planted CONSTANTLY shed small berries, which are constantly on the sidewalks, and you can not help but step on them, they are EVERYWHERE, of course, without a shoe scraper, you drag them into your apartment and stain the carpets.
Also, one thing of mention is that there is a constant mold problem here. I have to be extremely vigilant to clean every surface that is touched by water at least twice a week to avoid having mold.
Also, I live near the edge of the complex, I can hear every car that drives down Summerlin Parkway and I get the joyous news helicopters that are directly over the apartment when they are reporting about traffic on the Rainbow curve.
If you are looking for a place to live...keep looking. Move along, nothing to see here. It's definitely not worth the rent price every month. SROlYjGrgm2VnM-SactV
