I lived at San Tropez in 2003 (during divorce and before I bought my home), and have to say that it was one of the best places I had ever lived. Frankly, if the house deal hadn't appeared, I would probably still be there.
I found the apartments spectacular, especially when comparing them to others I had visited. The problems with the grounds were due largely to lazy, inconsiderate people who were allergic, apparently, to picking up after their animals.
My unit, which was in a far corner of the complex, was quiet, and I rarely had any problems with noise.
As I had only one vehicle, the parking wasn't an issue unless I had company. Then the pinch on the number of visitors' parking was apparent. I had many compliments on the quality of the apartments and the grounds.
The gates were "always" broken. The reasons why were pretty apparent as idiots tried to squeeze through opening doors too soon or closing doors too late. And then would be the first to complain - of course - about their damaged vehicle of the fact that the gates weren't working!
I never, ever had any problems with the management. Ever. In fact, they would take the extra effort to give me a call if I had package delivered and the delivery company didn't leave me any notice. They were more than helpful when I was going through the home buying nightmare. None of the issues I had with the apartment were due to the management, but nearly all were due to inconsiderate people. Unfortunately, that's something that can't be ascertained when the apartment is rented.
As I read the negative reviews here, I had to double-check to see if it was the same complex!
