great location. .so so. From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 6/19/2008 Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2008   These apartments are old, and there will be bugs in old apartments, but where are there not bugs' especially this time of year' i now live in a brand new house and occassionally i'll see one, but usually a result of leaving the door open. i lived here for more than a year and a half, paid a ridiculous amount of a deposit because we were from out of state, i moved into a 1 bd, and they transferred my 1200 deposit. why couldn't i just start over with a 300 deposit like everyone else' and the dog deposit is RIDICULOUS. 600 deposit and 40 a month'' the appliances are old, and yes, the roman bath tubs are nice, but NEVER will you fill it up. the water is turned off frequently for who knows why. my toilet flooded once. dishwasher water came out from beneath after testing it, so after that, i rarely used my appliances, as i'm a student n just fix up simple things. the staff at the office has had a high turnover rate, however it was linda managing the whole time i lived there. they could be more polite, and they put people's business on blast when there are tenants in the office trying to pay for rent with the ridiculous money orders. one maintanence guy for 500 units, yet dozens of other workers to start cutting grass at 6 am. it seems that they are somewhat on top of things and fullfilling requests. Sandpiper is OK, it's in a good location, but the apartments are OLD. I can hear every footstep upstairs. The pools are always crowded or closed. and as far as crime, cops came here and there but no one ever really knew why, except one time my next door neighbors supposedly got caught for drugs and domestic violence, breaking surrounding windows of other tenants. and what pissed me off the most was that one was still lingering around the very next day after everyone heard a cop yell that he'd be going to prison. but majority of people mind their own business. and extra parking is very limited. one plus was that i did receive the majority of my deposit back, surprisingly, as i was prepared to be ripped off.
