We have been left in unsuitable living arrangements for 5 days, since repairs were started after not hot water for 2 days and then a flood,with no firm answer on when the repairs will be completed and the mess from the repairs cleaned. We have not been allowed to stay in a vacant apartment or transfer to a different apartment for the remainder of our lease. We were told that we could get a hotel for 1 night(a far cry from the time it is going to take to bring our apartment back to the standards we are paying for) and the corporate office would reimburse us $50. We have been encouraged to sleep on the floor of the room where a lot of our stuff is being stored since two rooms have been torn up. Management has showed very little concern for our situation and has not been honest with us about when things will get done. Perhaps that the manager doesn't know that I work for a property management company at an apartment complex so when she gives me reasons why things can or cannot be done, I recognize the condescension in her tone and when she is just giving me an answer to get me off the phone. Both my husband and I have taken time off of work to be present when the repairs are done so that there is no chance that our cat(legally there because we paid a deposit and pet rent each month) doesn't get out at the hands of those doing the repairs. The apartment now stinks because they just let the wet carpet, in two rooms sit there without bringing in a means to dry it until it can be cleaned at the completion of all the repairs. I know that I am rambling, but that is how the attempts at resolution with them have gone, just kinda talking in circles.
