Time flys...over a hear since my last review and I'm still here, but not for long. There is a crime problem here. My touring bike was stolen from the 2nd floor cause-way while it was leaning up against my window: last night. Somebody had to be pretty brave to do that, but I attribute this mostly to the gate being broken and left open for well over a week now. I have had some problems with the water bill not seeming right, so I contacted management, because I discovered they are the ones billing for the water. They ignored my calls (3 over 3 weeks) Then they sent me a threatening letter when I did not pay the water bill, indicating they would charge me a late fee of $50 per day if I did not bring the account up to date on my next rent payment. So I called the office and repetitively on the last day of my grace period. 1 message was left at 9am, another at noon and finally I reached somebody at 4pm. I was told, "We can't pull your water up on the system right now." I explained that I needed to know exactly what I owed, because of the threatening letter. She asked to put me on hold and did so without waiting for an answer. Five minutes later the line went dead. The time was 4:45pm, but the office wasn't scheduled to close until 5:30pm, so I walked over, only to find that it was locked and that they had left early for the day. I suppose that is why the phone went dead. The workout facility boasts a sign that says, "open 24 hours" That sign is only for the benefit of those looking for a new place to live, because security will kick you out at 11pm. I pushed the issue once and maintained my workout past 11pm, I stepped out to use the rest room and security locked me out, using a separate lock from the resident's key. I pointed to the sign, stating "24 hours" and he just shrugged and walked away. I brought this to managment's attention, almost a year ago, the 24/7 sign is still there and security still locks things down early. So managment will curtail facilities at the expense of residents, pay for security to monitor the main office, but won't shell out the bucks to expedite a fix on the front-gate. The rent has gone up from $655 to $705 for a Studio Apartment so small I've got to step outside, just to change my mind. AND that's what I've done...changed my mind...My vehicle (a van) has been vandalized, my touring bike stolen and all this in the last 90 days. Something is going wrong here. The maintence crew will wake you up at 8AM to cut the grass that doesn't need to be cut, but will leave garbage on the grounds! A studio here might be worth $550 at best, under current conditions. Management will treat you marvelously until you are locked in and then the only thing that matters to them is that your rent is paid on time. I suspect they are going to have a mass exodus on their hands shortly. You'll regret living here...I do.
