After being here for 4 years I have found that Sunset Pointe has it's share of both good and bad features and overall I would rate it as average.
First the good: convenient location close to airport, a park, and a short drive to the Las Vegas strip; the staff especially the maintenance crew seem to be pretty responsive to requests; while the drive-in and walk-in gates are often broken and never monitored, I never experienced any property theft or vandalism problems while here; while old, the buildings seem fairly well constructed to the point that I rarely heard any of my neighbors; the exercise facility is good enough to forego a gym membership if your only concern is getting a good workout.
Next the bad: At the start the rental price was very reasonable, more recently it seems a bit high given the quality of the apartments and amenities; the location is right across a busy street from the McCarran airport so there is a lot of airplane and street noise - especially if you are in a building closest to Sunset Road; parking can be a challenge if you have more than one vehicle as there is not a lot of additional parking available; I don't know if this is a Las Vegas problem in general but I experienced a lot of problems while I was here with my water supply being blocked by fouled filters and/or aeroators leading me to believe that the water isn't very clean or there is a problem with the inbound plumbing.
