This place is nice if you would like to live close to the casinos & the strip. Living here for almost a year, there's been nothing but DRAMA! If you like DRAMA, this is a place to be! The week I moved here, neighbors already knew who I was, where I worked, etc. This didn't bother me at all though. Once you get to know your neighbors, they're really friendly people. They actually look out for you.......I've met alot of nice neighbors!

===- OVERALL -===

* CHILD ABUSE/NEGLECT: What really bothers me is children unsupervised running around the apartment complex butt naked! They're defiantely Child Abuse-Neglect going on here! As soon I can pin-point which kid belongs to which family... it'll make it easier for me to contact CPS to file a report. I've already had to make one report.

* TEENAGERS: Teens are loitering after hours drinking, smoking and vandalizing on the walls. If you call METRO, they won't come out unless you exaggerate what's going on and I'm NOT going to jail for that! Teens from GRANDVIEW APARTMENTS next door come over to swim in the pool after hours and Security didn't do a damn thing for a while. They have Security now. The young Caucasin kid that used to work here was awesome! He was on top of things and made his rounds patrolling the parking lots and apartments. NOW, we have this NEW guy that walks around with a blue backpack. Well, he's NOT really doing his job. He sits in front of the office for hours and gets up every so often. The new Security recently accused one of the residents of assault and gave himself bruises (what a retard)! Thank goodness for the neighbors and witnesses they were able to speak to METRO and inform them such thing did not occur! Sheesh!

* PARKING: There's NO assigned parking so it's basically first come first serve! There's always parking for you and your guests! When there's events and/or concerts at the Gold Coast Casino or Palms Casino, people will park at the SUNWOOD VILLAGE APARTMENTS and walk over to the casinos. I've had to call the tow truck a few times... sorry! These parkings here are for residents.. NOT for outsiders to park so they could attend some functions at the casinos!

* CRIME: Don't hear of any crimes occuring here in the apartments. You'll see Metro Police show up here and there but for nothing major. It's pretty safe to walk around here at night... I always walk over to the Gold Coast and to the Palms Casino after hours for a walk.

* OFFICE MANGEMENT: Denise, the office manager is awesome! If you have a problem, go speak to her. She listens to all your needs and concerns! She's very professional.

* RENT/APT: Ya can't complain!!! For what I'm paying for, I'm happy! I was paying $1400 back in Cali for a 2bed/2bath!! All appliances work well and I really love the AC!!! OMG.... I have it turned on AUTO @ 78 degrees. Electricity bill is only $60.00 for me! Love it! Back in Cali, I was paying over $250.00!! All the Maintenance guys are comedians! If you have PETS, there's a one time PET rent/fee.. I believe it was 150.00 each. Two pets, max.

* NOISE LEVEL: Well.. it all depends on where your apartment is located......... Where mine is located, I hear all the yelling and screaming from the Palms casinos, bikes and cars peeling out etc. That doesn't bother me. What bothers me is, we have few idiots that bumps Hip/Hop-Rap music after hours somewhere and it echos! Let's just say everything echos around here.

* CELLPHONE RECEPTION: "CAN YOU HEAR ME'" CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW'" IF you have Verizon Wireless, you pretty much get a 'DEAD ZONE' here. I had a BlackBerry Pearl and wasn't getting reception at all.. in or outside of my apartment. I thought something was wrong with my phone so I upgraded to a new phone... I'm still having the same problem. I contacted Verizon to report the 'Dead Zone' because they do advertise on TV that that they're the 3G network.. yada yada.. w/no dead zone.. ya ya.. I found one here in the complex so I was exicted to report it. Verizon claims that they fixed the problem.. I admit.. it's a little better but not that great! I have to walk over to the parking lot to make phone calls. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to text from inside my apartment. I can't speak for other wireless providers though. Since I have Verizon... I'm speaking from experience...... IT does get annoying having to walk to the parking lot to make phone calls.

Other than that............... I'm not sure if I'll be staying here for another year..... Haven't decided yet..............................

RE: PARKING--- Residents that have lived here for a while have parking preference and have been pretty consistant. I do ask that new & prospective tenants respect those parking stalls. I thank you very much. I'm sure I speak for other residents....

Wow! This was a fabulous review! Very detailed and informative! I have Tracfone, and I have NEVER had any reception problems! No dead zones for ME! That security guy with backpack sounds just like one we had here (downtown). He would around once, then sit by the laundry all night (well, he COULD see the front gate, pool, and half the apartments from there). The child abuse and the teen vandals kinda bothers me, but if the teens want to use the pool, doesn't bother me. I remember those days... as long as it doesn't get out of hand and someone gets hurt. I do wish parking was assigned, like where I live now, but I can deal with it. I'm thinking of moving there, and really sounds good. Thanks!

I've been living here for over a year now and they've been having plumbing problems since the beginning of this year! The office does not inform thier tenants 24 hours in advance that the water will be turned off. They just turn it off and we'll be without water anywhere from 5~6 hours! This has been an on-going problem. Office's response to this is "we had an emergency, one of the pipes busted." They must be using plastic piping or something because they use that excuse every week!!! This is rediculous! I'm about to complain to the city and see what can be done about this! Another thing, ever since this place stopped having a Security, there's been drug deals going on in the back parking lot and cars has been vandalized! The office didn't do a damn thing about this and so is Metro! They were called but did not respond to the call. Just the other night, there was a domestic violence going on in one of the apartments which involved kids. Metro was called. They showed up 20 minutes after. Someone could have been seriously hurt or dead. SUNWOOD VILLAGE is a joke y'all! RENT is expensive as well. Now the apartment complex down the street at the corner of Wynn and Viking is nice. Their 2 bedrooms were going for 600, 1 bedroom for 400.
