HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT

I have been here since April 14,2008. I'm not going to go as far as saying that this place is the worst place to live but I expected better than what I've experienced. The office staff is very nice but they do seem to be petrified by Jane, the manager. I signed the lease on March 24th and did not occupy the apartment until the 14 of the following month. On the day I signed the lease I was given a "check list" of things to inspect: showers, doors, electrical outlets etc. Upon inspection,I noticed a crack on the fiberglass tile in the garden bathtub and also that the doorbell was inoperable-it made NO noise at all.(I should have been more detailed) I returned the checklist to the office within 2 hours. I also informed them that there was a HUGE SANITARY NAPKIN bloodied as if cattle was slaughtered in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. Nice welcome package huh' I also found out after speaking with a neighbor that she had a nice welcome package also; she had a big pile of un-flushed feces in her toilet. I think she was trying to make me jealous. LOL. That just goes to show that neither the maintainance staff or any of those "nice and friendly" ladies in the office actually inspect the units before renting. BAD MANAGEMENT! I lived in New York prior to re-locating and before moving, constant contact was kept with Janelle Lewis,(one of the leasing agents) I mentioned in almost every call to please make certain everything was in working order and was told that I had nothing to worry about. Well, let me just tell you that as I type this the doorbell is STILL not working. That's not even the worst of it. This is the worst part: I'M LIVING IN THE DESERT WITHOUT AN AIR CONDITIONER! When a repair is needed, you call the office and they put a "ticket" in, after that, they send someone over to fix-or try to fix the problem. I have called the office several times; more specifically on May 9,10,12,14,15,16,17,20,28&# and on the 30th.(the dates not mentioned here are due to cooler temps) Someone was sent out every time, initially the service calls were handled by "Turtle Creek" staff and things were done like adding freon and changing motors, then they got the hint and started to call in "Fire & Ice" which we were told was the company that installed the unit in the first place, they came in and supposedly gave us a NEW compressor. I was sure things would get better from there but that was on Monday May 12th and it is still not fixed. After that date freon was just being added almost daily; one guy even told us that the cap to hold the freon in was off and of course he put one on. Another time a guy came in and aimed what looked like a laser gun at one of the vents to try and find a leak. On the 29th someone came out and said that he found the leak and had to order a part that wouldn't be in until the next Thursday but he would fix it for the time being and it would hold until then. The next day it was blowing air not cool or cold air.....just air. I called the office at 5:07; and got Jane,(the manager)on the phone and I told her that once again the air conditioner needed servicing, she said she would send someone right over-no one came. I called the emergency number at 6:04 and THEY said they would contact maintainence-no one came. I called the number again at 7:28 and I am still waiting at 8:02. Like I said HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. Never once has anyone ever called us to ask us or make certain that the problem was rectified. The manager did tell Janelle Lewis to call me to ask me if we had a dog though. If you have a dog you must pay $387.00 plus pet rent of $15 monthly and bring your pet in to have a picture taken. This was done because she saw my daughter walking the neighbor's dog. Enough about MY personal experience, "Turle Creek" is quiet and clean for the most part. It is a gated community but anyone and everyone could get in from the park. The gate is purposely left ajar because the people here that DO own dogs are to lazy to unlock the gate to walk them. Management was made aware of that as well. I don't understand why they won't just weld it shut. OH! I know why.....because then they can't use the park as a feature to try and get you to pay the extra $35. they will tell you that for an extra #35 you can have a view of the park...which is very nice if you like the dust storms and having to clean EVERYTHING OFF in your apartment including laundering all the linen. I guess most people would just close their windows during the storms but that's not an option for us because WE HAVE NO AIR CONDITIONER. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT. A word of advice: as you complete your checklist be detailed, don't just turn on the air conditioner and be satisfied by the roar; see if hot air and cold air actually come out(we didn't)turn on the washing machine and check for hot and cold water(we didn't-we just saw water and after we moved in discovered that there was no cold water only hot )Not to mention that the "Apartment Guide" books have them listed as being in Green Valley/Henderson when in fact they are in Las Vegas. When you go to the schools they will certainly let you know that the zoned middle school for that area is Cortney, very undesireable to say the least. Any questions contact me at seveneleven430@aol.com I will tell you all you need to know.

I have lived at Turtle Creek Apartments since 2006 and it sadens me to see this tyoe of rating. Moving into a brand new apartment yes you have to work out the bugs. Jane and her team have been more than accomodating. Unfortunetly there was one girl in the office who was the Assistan Manager Jennifer no longer there thank you Jane she was the most ignorant person I have ever come in contact with. If she liked you she had her head so far up your ____ constantly gossiping insted of doing her job. Hopefully it has not rubbed off on Claudia as for Janelle she spends too much time visiting and does not pay attention to you when you are waiting.
