Quiet, Trees, Affordable, Great Location - Bad Neighorhood Though

I lived here for two years and never had a problem with management, maintenance, or neighbors. The neighborhood, however, is ghetto. Our truck was stolen (and recovered) while we lived there. Other than that really bad luck, the apartment itself was fine. I live now in an townhouse in a "nice, new" development and the neighbors here are rude, loud, and much more ghetto. My neighbors at T.E. kept to themselves and were friendly to each other. My apartment at Twain Estates was so quiet, in a great location, and I loved how the parking was all in the center, so you didn't open your front door to a parking lot like most apartments. We actually had a semi-private grass yard with trees in front of our unit... for $500 a month. Try to find that -anywhere- in Vegas... good luck. The SouthWest Corner of the property is definitely choice. My unit had balcony/loft setup which again, is next to impossible to find in Vegas. for anyone on a budget or living by themselves who wants to be close to the strip, this is by far the best place to live... I looked all over and have dozens of friends who lived in other complexes that were just plain nasty. Want proof how nice it is' Go up to Ghostbar at the Palms and look at that block where Twain Estates is... nothing but trees. You won't see that anywhere else you look. On the down side: the pool did get closed a lot and just based on location, it is not a very safe area of town. I've heard it's gone way downhill and the new fence around the complex is a real eyesore. But when I was there, I was very happy. I can't blame the apartment management for our vehicle getting stolen... it's a crappy neighborhood.
