I moved into village at karen apts cause I liked the landscaping and the idea you only have three neighbors living in the same block of units. The price was right for a two bedroom place also. I really would have no complaints about village at karen for the price, but that's until you take into consideration the horrible management in the leasing office. For example our AC went on friday before the end of office hours, we notified Edna and her cohorts in the leasing office and nothing is done. Call their emergency number as it got later no one helped us. It's 100 degree weather and at night around 80 degrees, we have a 3 month old newborn in the house and a one year old with a heart condition and we can't get our AC fixed. Call Saturday, Nothing. Sunday the same. Long story short. We couldn't get any help. I can't remember when it was but at one time I was speaking to Edna about nothing being done and how AC was a standard of Living in las vegas and it was her responsibility to have it fixed or she was in violation of our lease and las vegas living conditions code. She tells me to basically suck it up, that other tenants had to wait over the weekend without AC in hotter weather than I. She says the owner doesn't want to pay to have it fixed by an outside company and no one who worked for or with village at karen would come out on a weekend. She lied I spoke with the AC guy who came to fix our AC, he said they would come out and that they were on call it just cost village at karen more and they didn't want to pay for it. It took him 15 min to fix the AC. It was frozen cause the a gauge that controlled I the chill inside the AC unit was cranked up to high. He adjusted it, told us to let it melt and off he went. Edna only cared about money. Alot of the neighbors were telling me to be careful when we left cause the office would charge you insane cleaning fees. In the two years we lived there even after speaking with management about carpet cleaning or replacement, nothing was done. It was my understanding they would pay to shampoo the carpet every six months or at the end of my lease. Never happened. In matter of fact after a year you aren't allowed to sign another lease it's automatically month to month and they can increase your rent at their will. Within a year my rent increased about $40 dollars. Two Twenty dollar increases. At least. When we moved we cleaned up the place and I won't lie we didn't deep clean the place, for example I knew after 2 years they were going to replace the floor. It needed replaced. I don't even think it was new when I moved in. So we didn't bother doing much to it but vacuuming up a little. Also I did leave a mattress on the property. We'd given them at least a $300 dollar deposit, maybe even up to $500, but I can't be too sure about that. Anyways plenty to clean the place up professionally if she needed. We didn't even expect our deposit back so we didn't bother worrying about the mattress or carpet. As far as I'd been told Edna and company never return deposits. so yeah I guess she needed more money cause she asked for $180 more. Which I know is bull. The price is right, but the customer service, and management are horrible wrong. Village of Karen will be a great experience for you if you never have to deal with the office. If nothing goes wrong, if not watch out. Don't expect anything but money grubbing from Village at Karen and Myer and Associates. If you decide to rent there do it with the few individually owned units that the actual owners oversee. My neighbors who had the blessing to have been lucky enough to do that had absolutely different experiences. Also nothing but good things to say about those owners. Like I said if you don't have to deal with the office you will probably enjoy village at karen for the price. Thanks for you time and good luck on your apartment hunting.

Village at Karen has the most horrible staff you could ever deal with!!!!!! When you do decide to finally move out Edna the manager will haunt you forever! My true honest advice is to never ever deal with the lady in the first place!
