My family and I have lived at the Bluffs for about a year. We really like our apartment. It was clean when we moved in. The neighbors are quiet. The carpet and cabinets are really cheap and most of the units show extreme wear. Our major disappointment is the staff. It took 4 months from the time we turned in our application and payed our deposit(we were guaranteed to move in with 30 days). And I think it would have taken at least a year had we not started harassing them with phone calls every two days to follow up on what they said they would get done. Pinnacle (the management company) really does a horrible job of training their staff. They always appear frantically responding to emergencies, and have a horrible, unstructured, chicken-with-its-head-cut-off business style. Unless your water pipe broke or you saw someone breaking into a car, they won't do anything. For example, they sold us on the idea of some of their amenities like the "24 hour business center" with unlimited free faxing and computer/internet access. Ever since we've been here its always been closed and off limits. The weight room has had the same broken treadmill for weeks and they haven't repaired it. The cable fly weight-lifting system is missing several pins that secure the weights. The pool was closed several times this summer because they wouldn't invest the $20 to install bolts to secure the cleaning vent that they claimed kids kept "vandalizing." Well, why don't you just bolt down the vent so they can't kick it off'
There are gang signs scratched into the mirrors of the weight room. The "f" and "b" word are scratched onto the slides in the kids play area (I've asked them to remove that over a month ago, and no progress).
They tell you there are a bunch of rules like only small dogs under a certain weight, no blankets hanging like junksterville from your windows, etc. But they never enforce it. I walk past the same apartments every day and see the same Raider's blankets hanging from the window. The lady the next apartment over has at least a 40 pound dog. Their is dog poop on almost every inch of green grass.
The odd thing is, when we came by for the first time and asked for a tour of the apartments, they were so nice and friendly. But once we actually put in our application, it was like they swept us into a pile into the corner and forgot about us.
There business model is such that they respond only if you're physically in their office complaining. But if you complain enough, you'll eventually get the help you need.
Personally, if you were a friend of mine, I wouldn't recommend moving here. The management is such a thorn and so behind on getting things done, that it'll probably drive you crazy.
