Yo!

Good in the beginning not so much towards the end

The apartment was great in the beginning. The office staff was wonderful, very helpful with whatever needed to be taken care of. There was a high turn over rate of office staff, but whomever my husband and dealt with were professional and caring. We did have some noise problems with the tenants upstairs, the liked to jump and run around in the apartment, but being the mother of 2 children as well, we well understood the noise. The grounds are nicely maintained, grass mowed, litter picked up, etc. There were bad points, as stated in one review the walls were thin, if your neighbors weren't as quiet as mice you would hear them. The complex started going down hill rapidly. During the summer of 2007 through pretty current at least once a week a window was broken in a car in the parking lot. There is a problem with mice, they like to live in your storage areas, dont leave anything in there that you might not want a mouse living in. When mentioned to the office, they stated that they knew of the problem and it happend every winter in Nevada. I have lived in a couple of different complexes in the city and never have had the mouse issue. The kids from the neighboring complex would come over and hop the fence and swim in the pool after it was closed, even though the neighboring complex boasts of 3 pools. Security was a joke. If you had a need for them, lets hope it wasnt a pressing need, it took no less than 30-45 minutes for them to show up. The complex advertises on site security, what they dont tell you until you happen to mention it to the office, is that they are one site but they are also on site at other units owned by the management company around town. When we moved in, they told us to vaccuum and sweep and clean it like you would normally clean your house, no need to do the usual move out intense cleaning because by state law they have to thoroughly clean every apartment before the next tenant moved in. Like another review dated 2/19/07, we had some water damage as well. We had a hard heavy rain this winter and in between our place and the one above, the rain got into, causing water damage on our ceiling causing it to leak onto the carper, leaving a large stain. I had mentioned it to the office and they said not to worry about it. Our water heater then broke, it was so rusted that it cracked and flooded the dining area, part of the hallway and the kitchen. Again I let the office know and they said not to worry about it, it would dry and be fine. We move out and then receive a bill for a new carpet, claiming staining through out, that their professional cleaners couldnt get it out. Just like the other reviewer, am I seeing a pattern' When I brought up their dont worry about it statement, they became very unfriendly and suggested without actually stating it that we were slobs, and she knew it wasnt water damage. Let me asked...since when is an apartment manager an expert on carpets'
If you have to live there, go for it. They are fine and great until you move out and question the bill you receive.
