a run-down rip off

Silver Ridge left a lot to be desired. The carpet was dirty and smelled like pee, and the linoleum was bubbling and coming apart at the edges. The counters were crooked and cut up, and the appliances were all broken-- in fact, the oven never worked properly and neither did the freezer, which wasn't cold enough to keep anything frozen. The cupboard drawers were contantly falling off, and my sink overflowed three times. When maintainence came-- eight hours late-- to repair my sink (which was spilling brown water all over the floor) they made a huge mess and left it for me to clean up. But this is just the beginning.
My neighbors were drug dealers who had people coming going at all hours of the night. They were so loud that I couldn't sleep or concentrate on my homework. I wrote two formal complaints, but the situation only got worse. Finally I went to management and told them that I could smell pot and that I didn't feel safe because some of the guys who hung out there were hassling me. They told me to call the police if I didn't feel safe. They also told me that they couldn't do anything because nobody else had complained. A few months later I was talking to another single woman who lived next to these awful neighbors, she said she also had complained numerous times and was very upset. The management had lied to both of us, telling us we were alone in our complaints. Basically, they just didn't want to deal with the problem.
When these horrible neighbors finally got evicted, maintainence came to clean the apartment. They took all of the possessions the tennants had left and threw them over the balcony right down onto my patio. They threw a full sized couch and chair down without even looking to see if me or my dogs were sitting below. (Which i was, luckily under the balcony.)
Overall, the complex was very run-down both inside and out. Having lived in other, much nicer apartments in the area, I can say that Silver Ridge was grossly overpriced for what they had to offer.
