Silver Ridge Apartments is the worst place I have ever lived. I live in a 2-bedroom apartment. The apartment itself is poorly insulated and noise travels easy between apartments. Every time somebody walks upstairs my roof creeks and cracks. The paint, counters, showers and flooring (vinyl and carpet) is cheap and is installed with shoddy workmanship. The guest bedroom doesn?t have a phone line, the air filter hasn?t been changed in 10 years and appliances are cheap. Outside the apartment the grass is poorly kept and never watered so everything is brown and has weeds. These apartments have a lot of amenities, year-around indoor and outdoor pool in summer, hot tub workout room, and billiards table, racket ball court, tennis court.


*The indoor pool closes for maintenance quite a bit and the one time I was in there they had so much chlorine in the pool it bleached my swimming suit.


*The outdoor pool is filled for summer and hardly cleaned after that.


*The hot tub is hardly ever open, their excuse is because of vandalism, but it always looks OK to me, besides the fact they have it padlocked.


*The workout room has fairly new equipment and is well kept (about the only part of the apartments that are).


*The billiards table, racket ball court, tennis court are just there so they can say they have them. Especially the racket ball court and tennis court which are dirty, poorly maintained and the tennis court lights don?t work most of the time.


The buildings are also old and not maintained. I especially like the scenic view of the weeds in front of my bedroom window.


In the winter the apartment roads are snow packed and icy and no salt or sand is set down to remove the ice. This doesn?t work well with hills in the complex because your vehicle will slide. I almost hit several cars parked in front of apartments because I tried to go down hill to my apartments on ice.


The apartment staff is rude, unhelpful and the apartment newsletter is nothing more than a chance for the apartment staff to yell at the tenants and make threats that they will increase our rent if the tenants don?t start behaving. To tell the truth, the only people that don?t behave are the staff.


The rent for our apartment went up $30 per month in the past year making Silver Ridge one of the most expensive apartments in town, when in actuality with the poor maintenance and the crap we have to deal with the rent should actually be going down. According to them the rent increased because of the market, but I have seen a lot of empty apartments lately in my building.


Basically, if you plan to move here, it?s a waste of money!
