Important to understand is that what generally makes a nice place to live as far as apartments are the people you live next to. In our case, we had good neighbors.

The maintenance people are probably understaffed, as I do usually see them working outside, but many jobs do not get taken care of. For instance, the "gate project" that consists of some spray painted lines, a few non-functioning sets of gates, and some good sized piles of dirt for 2-3 months now. When I have a problem, I usually fix most issues in the apartment that don't cost too much.

The management isn't _that_ bad, as far as I can tell. In the year we've been here, neither myself nor my girlfriend have had any issues with them.

The feral cats are a-plenty, but I don't mind, because most of them are pretty cool. I've seen less of them lately, so someone must have taken care of the issue.

My only complaints are the other residents. You have your typical d-bag driving through honking and blaring loud music early in the morning or late at night, which happens fairly frequently...but what can you do' These things will have to be solved incrementally. We used to have a guy with a modified exhaust who always went to work at 6-7AM, and that was annoying. He left, and it's been way better.

Anyway, the price is fairly decent, and we've never had any significant problems.
