Twice now I have applied for an apartment here. THe first time was 2 years ago and i was Denied because of my credit'

Two years later I thought maybe things were different. I called an explained I was looking for an apartment but had been denied there before. Tina told me not to worry that they had all new staff and easier guidelines than before and assured me there would be no problem. So after I wasted my time viewing a place and getting excited they made me give them a deposit. After I did all the running around for them since none of these places will take checks, I no sooner pulled out of the driveway when Tina called to tell me I was denied. I asked her why and she said she didn't know the "computer just said I was denied" I was pissed. I went back and said well what credit check are you using. She claimed she didn't know and told me I would get a letter in the mail about it. Well by law if your denied they have to tell you their source but they never do. I never got anything in the mail. I'm so tired of the scams these apartments are running in this town. Don't even think about looking for a place here. It's a waste of time and money!!!!

We were very sorry to learn that one of our past applicants felt they were treated poorly at Southridge Apartment Homes. It is our goal to treat everyone in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner at all times. When problems such as this arise they can only be corrected if the affected person brings their concerns to the attention of the community manager so that any impropriety can be handled accordingly. I encourage this individual to meet with me in person to discuss this matter, or to provide me with their name so that I can look into the specific details surrounding their complaint. Whenever a rental application is received at Southridge Apartment Homes our policy is to collect two money orders from the prospective resident, a non-refundable application fee and a refundable apartment holding deposit. The application fee covers the cost of the applicant's credit screening and background check. Our office staff has no control over the outcome of this report, and does not know the specific parameters used by the company, First Advantage SafeRent, performing the credit screening. When First Advantage SafeRent recommends that an applicant be declined no specific details are stated in the report. We notify the applicant as soon as possible, give them a document titled "Notification of Cancellation or Denial", and return their original holding deposit money order to them. The documentation given to the applicant gives them a brief explanation of why they were declined, and provides them with the company's contact information (First Advantage SafeRent, 888-333-2413). After reading this individuals review of Southridge I looked through the files of all applicants denied since Oct 1, 2008. During this review I found no evidence to support this individual's claim that they were not provided with the name and telephone number of the company that performed the credit screening and background check. I apologize for any misunderstanding, and once again encourage this individual to meet with me to discuss their concerns. This is not a website for managers. This is a website for tenants, x-tenants and prospective tenants. There was no "misunderstanding" as you say. Why would this person ever come back there again. You have already humiliated them twice by saying their credit isn't good enough to live in a low class section-8 ghetto. I bet if they had housing assistance you would have "overlooked" the credit issue. Right? I wonder how much you -------s make on application fees?? Your no attorney so don't act like one Mike! If you had taken care of business the first time you wouldn't be back-peddling.
