As a current resident at the Vintage (for approximately nine months), I wanted to give my take on some of the complaints in the other reviews.
First, the parking. I have never had any problem finding a parking spot immediately next to my building and am shocked to hear so many people complain about this. Perhaps some of the other apartment buildings (its a very large complex) have this problem, but I have never witnessed it. I am particularly shocked by the person who claimed they had to park at the McDonald's next door. Not saying this isn't accurate, just saying I've never experienced any problems.
Second, the apartments themselves. I live in a 1BR/1Ba on the third floor and enjoy it. It has vaulted ceilings which makes it very spacious. Not a lot of storage but I don't have a lot of stuff anyway. The apartment is expensive ($830/mo).
Third, the noise. I have repeatedly heard people say that they can hear people in the apartments above them. Since I'm on the top floor, this is not a problem for me. But I would strongly recommend people look for a 3rd floor apartment because the noise does sound like a big problem. Also, there are kids often playing in the courtyard area and pool area. If you have a problem with this, try to find a place in one of the more secluded buildings away from the clubhouse. Frankly, I don't think its a big deal.
Fourth, the pool and hot tub. Both are very nice although, as the weather heats up, they are very busy. This is a big complex with a lot of people so odds are there will usually be other people frequenting these amenities. Deal with it.
Fifth, the staff. They've always been nice to me but they are borderline incompetent. A few months ago I erroneously received an eviction notice for being $200 short on my rent. The reason I was short was because I had referred another person to the complex and was thus entitled to a $200 discount; it took me a week and a half to get it straigthened out. I know there are a lot of new people in the office so, conceivably, these types of things aren't occurring anymore. But, frankly, I do not have much confidence in the staff. Only had a couple maintenance issues and they were all taken care of ASAP.
Conclusion: I like it here. Yes, its expensive but the area is superb, particularly if you're working in South Reno or Carson City. Grocery store down the street, near the new upscale mall that just opened on Mt. Rose HWY, and near the Interstate.
I'd recommend the complex but recommend you get a top-floor apartment else expect a lot fo noise. Also, keep your expectations low for the staff and you won't be disappointed.

This person almost sounds like she is management staff at the Vintage. Parking is a very big problem and walls are paper thin. The management is not only incompetent but unfriendly.
