NOT worth it

First off, parking is on a first come, first served basis, and there are not enough spots for everyone. I can rarely park near my apartment, and they refuse to give us assigned spots.

The office staff is helpful until you sign your lease and then all they care about is your money. They treat their residents poorly and it takes forever for things to get fixed. If you are lucky enough to have someone come out to inspect the problem, chances are when they do fix it, they do a poor job and it ends up breaking again a few months later.

When I first looking at moving in the office staff was very friendly and the apartments were very nice. Problems started when it was time to renew my lease. They told me 30 days before my lease was up that they were raising my rent. The next day I decided to move out and went down to give them notice that I would not be renewing my lease. When I talked to the manager she said that I had only given 29 days notice instead of 30 days notice and that I was going to have to go "month-to-month" (which is $200 extra a month) or sign another lease. I shouldn't have, but I signed another lease. Things were fine until it came time to renew again. This time my rent stayed the same, so I decided to renew and I signed a new lease. The first month on the new lease I got a notice that I was delinquent on my rent. I took the notice down to them because I had paid my rent in full and was confused why I got a notice. They said that they had screwed up on my lease and that my rent should have gone up and that I should have "known better". How was I supposed to know my rent was going up when the paper they sent me said it stayed the same''' They tried to make me sign a new lease with the new inflated price but I refused. I told them it was a contract that we both agreed on and they would just have to wait until my lease it us to fix the problem. They kept trying to get me to sign a new lease and they even threatened to evict me. I told them that the contract was in place to protect both of us (me and them) and that because I hadn't done anything wrong they couldn't evict me. I guess I won that one, but I have a feeling it will come back to bite me when my lease is up again, but this time I will give my 30 day notice and get out before they can screw me any more.

Oh, and don't expect to get your deposit back either. I can't say first hand, yet, but everyone that I know that has moved out of the Vintage has ended up losing their deposit and about half have had to pay more for 'damages' to which no one can find.

The Vintage, while a nice looking are not worth the crap that put you through. STAY AWAY...

The management is very bad. They are not customer oriented and seem to be in a bad mood all the time, unless of course you're a prospective renter. They only give you one ammenity key and will charge you $50 for another key! not a deposit but a charge! I walked into the office one day and there was a manager sitting there that refused to look up at me, greet me, or even some type of acknowledgement whatsoever! Something is wrong with this one. And until someone else came into the office I was greeted with a cold shoulder attitude, something is wrong with this whole new management team. The previous team made it feel like a home, they knew your name and lots of the tenants would even bring them food treats and deserts, this new management was recruited from hell! As far as cost.. way too much, walls are paper thin the apartments are not weathering well with time and although from the outside they seem okay, believe me they are not. Cold and hot air comes in thru the windows and doorways and they will not do anything about it, so get our your rugs and 1 inch thick linens and bed shees to cover the windows. Parking is ridiculous, your will find yourself driving around and around on weekends when parties and out of towners take up all the parking, yes for non-residents. There are plenty of nicer and kinder places in Reno to rent, I recommend you forget this place and go elsewhere to rent otherwise you will regret it. Don't complain that no one has warned you about this place now.

have you guys thought about a class action lawsuit about the deposits??? You should think about it! Get a copy of the Nevada revised statutes. There is a section in there about deposits that might interest you.
