My husband and I lived at The Vintage from July 2004 through June 2007. I thought for the location, in South Reno it was one of the nicer places although it came at a price. We did get some good discounts for working at Renown but I'm not sure if that is still available. The management has changed a few times and do not always respond to questions/concerns all that quickly. The place seems to have more kids than when we first moved in and the pool might as well be a community center for the apartments next door. Due to the proximity to section 8 housing there definitely are some safety concerns. There have been multiple arrests and shootings next door, as well as car break-ins! Also, the quality of the apartments are not great- the carpets are really cheap. And I totally agree with the comment regarding bugs. We kept our kitchen really clean and still a million ants came in every day! I will say that the maintenance men are good there. All in all, there aren't many other choices nearby if you want to stay in South Reno. Maybe renting one of the zillion tract homes might be a better choice! We left due to a move but probably would have left anyways since they do charge an extra $200 a month for month-to-month for a minimum of 3 months!
