Working hard for the refund

I lived at the Vintage from 2004-2007. While at The Vintage I had my share of problems with the staff, but it didn t get really bad until I moved out. When I did my move out inspection with maintenance (Ricardo, who is really the only person at the Vintage who is worth dealing with) I was told that I would be receiving my entire deposit back (minus the standard carpet cleaning). I moved out at the end of August and was expecting my refund no more than 30 days later (per NRS 118A.242). The refund came in the middle of October which was a little late, but not a big deal. The Vintage had only send me part of my refund, so I called and asked what happened to the other part and they said I still had to pay them my last water bill (which I already paid and had a receipt for) and for 1 month of a storage unit (which I didn t have). It took a few days to clear all that up but then they told me they would send me the remainder of my deposit that next Monday. A few weeks came and went and no check came in the mail so I called The Vintage and they had no recollection of me calling so I explained the situation and they told me they would call corporate and have them send me a check the next day and they would call to give me the check number for verification. Another week went by and no check and no phone call so I called The Vintage and again they had no recollection of the problem so they couldn t do anything about it until they spoke with corporate. I called corporate and spoke with the woman who runs the accounts at The Vintage. She said she was never contacted by The Vintage about it but now that she was aware of the problem she would send me a check that next week. Another week went by and still nothing so I called corporate back and spoke with that woman again, she said that they already sent me one check and didn t need to send me another one. The one check they sent me was the first one which was not the full amount. I had to explain everything to her AGAIN and she said that she would call The Vintage and confirm that I needed a refund and she would call me back in a few hours. A few days later when corporate called me back she said The Vintage had no recollection of the problem (sounding familiar yet') and that she couldn t cut me a check until they told her that I needed a refund. So AGAIN, I explained the situation to The Vintage and they said they would call corporate and call me back. Again no check showed up. I started calling the corporate office every day and the lady who handles the Vintage accounts would not return any of my phone calls. The process of calling The Vintage (no recollection of the problem) and calling corporate (can t do it until The Vintage tells her I need one) continued every few days until the beginning of December when I finally received the remainder of my deposit. The people at The Vintage and at the corporate office are incompetent and they DO NOT deserve your business.
