With so many choices in the Capital District for apartment living, I would say Dutch Village is an excellent place to live. The complex is similiar in style to an Ivy League college with buildings dating back to 1940. I have lived at Dutch Village for approximately 6 years and find the location to be the best selling points. I90 and 787 are a few minutes away. Downtown Albany is only 3 miles away. The property is well maintained with the landscape and parking areas given attention on a regular basis. Snow removal is no problem and sufficient washers/dryers are on site. The only downside I have experienced is the number of maintenance calls needed in a given year due to the age of the buildings. Maintenance crews, I would assume, are constantly attending to property issues. For the most part, maintenance calls are answered promptly and professionally. Another downside is the rent. Rates are high but it appears not to deter anyone because the complex is usually well occupied with tenants. I would plan on a 2-5% rate increase each year. Overall, if you are looking for an upscale environment to live in close proximity to Albany and surrounding areas, I would recommend Dutch Village.
