I've lived in DV for over two years now and it's the best apartment I've ever had. I live in one of the old buildings and they are so sound proof - I feel like I have my own house.
The maintenance staff has been amazing. In fact, over the weekend my toilet mechanism broke and within 1/2 hour someone was there to fix it. Likewise, I had a faucet leak in January. Within an hour they had it fixed.
Plus, they're awesome at snow removal. it's like non-stop removal till all spots are clean.
I love my basement storage space and I love the park where I sometimes sit and read (in the summer ;-P) and the proximity to 90 and 787 makes it a breeze to get around and since I work downtown Albany I get there in under 10 minutes. Love it!
I guess it's true. You get what you pay for and I'm very happy to pay for a great home.
