Police said around 8 p.m. Tuesday, a suspect knocked on the door of a second floor unit at the Woodlake Apartments, and when he heard the door unlock, he then forced his way inside. Police said the man raped a 30-year-old woman. Police were back at the scene around the same time Wednesday night to check cars as they pulled into the parking lot. Investigators are still trying to put together a description of the suspect. They said they don't think the victim knew her attacker. In the meantime, police want residents to keep a close watch on what's going on, and lock their doors when they're home.

Even the Guilderland Police know this is an unsafe complex.

Still thinking about renting here' I sure wouldnt.

Provide a news link please. I live at the Woodlake complex and have not heard any other mention of this story. Also, I was in an out of my apartment and the complex both Tuesday and Wednesday and saw no police activity. Woodlake is as safe if not safer than the other complexes in the area. Be weary of what you read.

Maybe ask about the criminal records of the maintenance men and the criminal records of tenants--including one tenant accused of rape. Still feel safe? I didnt think so. Be weary, Woodlake is not safe.

the article you sent was from 2004. this guy was found and serving prison time. this could have happened anywhere! FYI to do a criminal background on any employee is a huge cost and as an employer when you hire someone you know from running the credit on the person if they have no job in 5 years it tells you something.

The Maintenance men are Awesome! They're super nice, one of them helped me move a couch across the complex from another Apartment in their time off the clock. They come and fix things right away, and they even unclogged my toilet!
