Not Too Shabby

This was mine and my boyfriend's first apartment after moving out of our parents homes. Maintenance was great. On both occasions I called, they were right here, once even at midnight due to a leak coming down from the upstairs apartment. Nothing serious though... his AC was just leaking and fixed that same night and no water damage. They do conduct inspections once a year but give you about 1 1/2 week notice. It was extremely clean when moving in. Not even a tack hole in the wall. It is on the small side but you can't beat the price. (580.00 mo.) There are laundry rooms in each building which are kept locked so kids don't play in them... everybody has a key given to them upon moving in. They work great and pretty cheap. My only complaint is the water turned my whites a shade of grey on occasion. Also, laundry is done with a card instead of coins, which is nice because I never have change. The apartments use well water which the PH levels are tested weekly, but they load it with chlorine so I don't recommend drinking it straight. To use it for iced tea and kool aid is okay and you can't notice it but don't drink it plain. Parking isn't bad and spaces are close to the apartment and lighting is decent. Lawns are always mowed, grounds are always clean, snow removal is always done, and hallways are kept clean. Cats are allowed with proof of up to date vaccines and a deposit. Dogs used to be allowed with the rule that they had to go to the bathroom out back and had to be immediately picked up, but the lazy people ruiened that by taking them on the front lawns and leaving it there, so no more dogs. Oh, and the shower never runs out of hot water which I loved. Heat & Lights where pretty cheap too. Summertime ran us on average of $80 and in the winter, about $170... but we lived on the bottom froor so it could differ on the 2nd and 3rd stories. It's fairly quiet for a building with 12 apartments in it. There's a thing here called "quiet time" which runs from 8pm to 8am and does stay pretty quiet. The only things we've really heard are minimal noise of the people upstairs but its never too loud and never after 8pm. Plus, what do you expect with people living over you! I wouldn't recommend this place to people with more than 2 smaller children because it is on the smaller side, but it was great for just starting out, for small families with a small budget, single people, and couples. Our lease is up in 2 months and we are moving out after being here only 1 year. It's not that we don't like it. My boyfriend thinks we need to waste our money on a bi-level townhouse that we can't even fill! Oh, plus we have a 10 month old who could use a little extra storage space for all the crap he's grown out of! One more thing... keep in mind that Bridgewater is "income sensative". It's pretty much filled with low to middle class families. It's not a mansion but it's nice! And you will need to show proof of income and get signed statements from you bank branch before moving in, but it's worth the hassle.

I would agree, for the most part, However, one thing I hope gets better, is the pounding music at all hours of the night from the cars coming and going...it wakes up the kids , because it is heart pounding. Also, I hope the people that live here pick up their garbage, when the snow melts, there seems to be a lot of debris, and I think in the news letter, we should have a spring clean up day. A lot of people are litterbugs, they literally walk right over the trash, especially at the mailboxes. maintenence should help out also. All in all we are comfortble, just make sure that the people dont jamm the doors, if you need safety!
