Management refuses to work with those who must relocate due to Employment

With comfortable units, garages, pools, and a low budget gym, management was unwilling to work with us when we were notified that we had to move to FL for our jobs or possible termination. Management informed us that we could "buy" out the lease which consisted of 4 months rent, plus the "consession" we received totalling almost $8000. This is just simply too much for us to afford and after multiple attempts at a more affordable buy-out, nothing was resolved. Now we are forced to possibly loose our jobs. How will Atl. Point get the rent now'' All this on top of degrading conditions here under the shadows of the Brookhaven dump, such as:
-rampant illegal parking on the streets and lawns
-Falsly advertising a "Gated" community (Gates have been broken for over 7 months)
-Disrespectful resisdence speeding and racing quads throughout the streets.
At first we really enjoyed having a nice, but drafty place with a garage. It was quiet and comfortable. But as time went on, we started seeing things which we felt Mng't was slacking off.
I would recommend against renting here. As seen buy my own eyes, all they want is your $$$ and they don't care about your personal situation, career, or you as a human. Yes, the units are nice, and the facilities personel have been fabulous at correcting the minor things we had issues with, but for this price, I expect more. I also think the owners of Atl. Point are in bed with Keyspan and LIPA, as the shoddy isulation leaks dollars of your gas and A/C bills right out the huge gaps in the doors, and storm window-less windows...

We charge a 2 month lease break penalty, not 4 months. We are sorry that you were in this situation, however you did sign a lease. Most complexes will hold you to the entire lease term. Any cars that are illegally parked are immediately towed. We no longer have issues since switching tow companies. We do not falsely advertise "gated community". Please lay blame on the residents who drive through the gates. Anyone caught speeding on illegal bikes is immediately evicted (within 2 weeks). We are not "in bed" with LIPA. As a matter of fact, we have sued them. |
