I am considering moving into Atlantic Point in the next couple of months. I will take some of these reviews with a grain of salt as they are way too emotional to be factual. There are a few true facts to point out and I have one very important question if someone can answer it (preferably a resident, but management reponse is welcomed).
Facts: No one can enter your home without your permission. This includes maintenance in an apartment dwelling. Unless there is an emergency (fire, flood, gas leak, etc.). Doing so is not only a criminal act but the person that has proof should really take them to court and also have the individual in violation arrested for traspass.
After living in several apartments on LI over the past 20 years, I can honestly say that my construction evaluation of the complex showed it is not that bad at all.
The cost is well under market value. The average complex with these amenities on LI costs anywhere from $2300 to $3500.(I presently pay $2800)
I have seen no other management company actually respond to any on line rating system such as this one. I appreciate that.

Questions: I am concerned about some of the statements regarding insects. While summer bugs (bees, etc.) are possible anywhere in the world, I am concerned about roaches, ants, termites, and/or mice. Is there a problem at the complex with these types of pests'

Manager's Response

Thank you for taking the time to ask about our complex. In answer to your questions:

1- When residents submit a work order, it is a given that we will enter the apartment to fix the problem. If the resident wishes to be home during the visit, then they request so during their call. It is stated in the lease that we will enter your unit to correct any problems. We obviously respect your privacy. We knock first. If nobody answers, we open the door, then announce ourselves several times. Furthermore, if a resident requests to be home, we will NEVER enter without permission. However, it is the residents responsibility to make this request ahead of time.

2- As with any other apartment complex (or private home for that matter), we do have insects. However, we (a) have a regular exterminating schedule (every Thursday) and (b) we have NO mice or roaches...EVER.

We hope that we have helped answering some of your concerns and hope that you choose Atlantic Point to call home.

Answer to the insects: Occasionally there are ants, but that's only if you don't clean up after yourself (in the garage or right outside). I have NEVER seen roaches, termites or mice in the time I've lived here (2002- now). I hope this helps.

The maintenance staff here is great. We've requested that we are home when repairs need to be made and this has always been respected.

As for insects, there is the occational moth that enters from the outside, but we've never had roaches, termites, ants, or mice.
