I read on a previous review that it is not recommended to live near a pond. Can you someone explain why' It would be very helpful to know. Thanks.

Yes it is because you will have more pests than if you do not live near one, there will be very poor drainage, the inside of your apartment will be very, very wet all the time, and it attracts complex kids that like wade in it, catch fish and try to kill the ducks and geese.
