I lived in Co-op City since 1972 and moved in the year 2000. I went to P.S. 153 and I.S. 180 when I was younger. They were very good schools back in my day. I see alot of people are trying to get Section 8 tenants thrown out, back in my day there were Section 8 tenants living there. I don't know who is screening these tenants but it has to do with Riverbay. It seems there are letting anybody in who has a job and money. I have gone back to Co-op and I could not believe what I saw so much construction on these buildings its crazy. I see it has not stopped since I moved. I made many friends there and some are still there telling me what's going on. I like to say there was a comment made about Co-op was bad in the 80's and 90's that is a lie!!!! Lets face it if you didn't live there you have no say what was going on. In that time there was nothing wrong with Co-op because you hear from somebody else. I lived in Section 4 and I had no problem with anybody and yes I felt safe. I can't say now to move there I'm not there to answer that question.

I'm glad Riverbay Corp. is getting rid of the Section 8 RATS!! All these low class government recipients needs to be in the Projects... All they do is bring crime and drugs to the area. They have no education, they piss on the elevators and tag up on the walls, some even defecate in the stair cases. Thumbs up for Riverbay on taking out these animals. :)
