I moved here 2 years ago and can't wait to move the hell out.
True the apartments are big and nice and cheap, but the trade off is NOT worth it.
The majority of people who live here are anti- ANYTHING that that are not..
Im Pacific Islander mixed with African American but look latina..
and they look at me like I have a d**k on my head.
The people all have a freakin chip on their shoulder if you're a "minority" to them...(people who know co op city know who the minorities are here).
They slam the front door or elevator in your face.
They let their kids throw trash all in the buildings, OK people, you have to live here, why would you want to mess up where you live' There is ALOT of Gang activity here.
Those who deny that fact are just turning the other cheek.
The people in management are rude and nasty.
If you sayu good morning to them its like you just cursed them out.
I lived in Castle hill before moving here.
I cannot WAIT to move back,.
The apartments are not as cheap and maybe not as nice, but at least the people are friendly

you are so right about people being rude and un-friendly. I held the door for a young man the other day and he didn't even say thank you and when I mentioned it to him he looked at me like I was stupid. People see you coming and let the door go. The people are rude and nasty and every once in a while you meet a nice person but I try to remember the nasty one's. Nobody says goodmorning when you enter the elevators or anything. You just live here but you don't have neighbors.

A glorified ghetto. Whats making it worse is that now all the yuppies from the Manhattan are starting to move in which means they will chase the locals out the same way they did to the Upper Westside and Harlem. Nobody wants you here, go to Long Island where you belong

You guys all sound so negative are any of you active in your cooperators association I bet the answer is no. If you invested your money into coop city why not work to make it better. You did buy your apartment or are you here illegally subletting your apartment.

Murray, please shut up. Don't blame this on the cooperators who are law abiding citizens, and don't assume the people who are complaining are illegally subletting. I pay my associations due, vote when it comes to electing board members and have attended meetings. Everyone is frustrated because inherently the Riverbay is screwed up and so is the majority of trash they let in. I'm gone, and I don't miss CC. Good luck to anyone who lives here.
