I was recentley directed to this site and read the reviews
of 823 Carroll Street and find it quite amusing.

I know the building
quite well as I live on the block and are somewhat familiar with their
owners.

They have/are involved with alot of real estate and have been
around for a while.

They are known for giving a really good product
but they are not the friendlest people.

Having said that their rental
units far exceed alot of the condos in the area and they take pains to
keep it that way. Some tenants move in and treat the place like a college dorm
and when the move out they don't want to know about it.

When you
rent a car they note the dings & you have to pay. These people don't need the nickels
and dimes of ------ tenants.

I'am not interested in hanging out with these
people but they are great neighbors.

They work hard on keeping up their
buildings and that's good for everybody including the tenants.

I wouldn't disagree with most of the author's post. As I said in my post, the owners have a decent product. The buildings are nicely renovated. The fixtures in the kitchen/bath are on the cheaper side (basic white cabinets, basic pedestal sinks, etc) but in good condition. We, however, are a professional couple who paid several thousand dollars per month on this place... we most certainly did not treat it as a "college dorm". We actually thought the owners were quite friendly and enjoyed talking with them while we lived there. When we moved out, however, the relationship changed dramatically. They clearly don't need the money, which made it all the more mystifying when they tried to charge us for ICE CUBE TRAYS they said were missing from the freezer, among other things. We were not alone in getting big deductions from our security deposits for things that were not taken or damaged. As I said, our neighbors both above and below us experienced the same thing.

I guess you treat your current apartment more carefully now. As a former tenant in the same building I have a tendency to believe that you may have other issues.
