The building that I live in an H building which is well kept by Mr. Martinez. Tenants recognize when he is on vacation or out because the quaility of cleanliness is not the same as when Mr. Martinez is on the job. However, there is a present increase in gang activity (evident by occassional gun fire) around the F and H buildings. At one time the back building where considered to be the safest, not any more. An additional complaint is parking when the ball parks are being utilized-parking is a nightmare!!! With the extra land either the owners should make the public a parking lot or provide the residents with FREE parking during the baseball season. Nothing is improving yet Starette City Associates want to raise the rent. Idealy I would like to move, but I can't, I am trapped by the high rent. GIVE US A BREAK!!!!

Rent is too high, every six month or less management will send letter to you that your rent has been increased and there is nothing you can do about it. You have to pay or move out. They dont wait till the end of your lease before increasing rent. I will advise you to consider other options. Not all that glitters is gold.

I also live in Starrett City. And while every thing that glitters isn't gold I searched high and low for a nice apartment with decent rent, and Starret city was the best that I came across. And while they do raise your rent often its still the most competitive to me. Two bedrooms, all utilities included, central air and heat, wood floor, track lighting.. For $1,000.00 a month I love it.

You should know that when a bunch of black people move in, EVERYBODY moves out. Now why is that? Can you tell me?

You sound like a racist begot, you need to move out since you hate it so much. Either move or shut up. As far as the projects being a block away and you referring to them as those people in previous blogs. Not every one who lives in the projects is welfare or section 8 recipients. There are many hard working individuals. Your not be than any of them if you think so move your a.. out to the Hamptons or better yet to Westchester.

starret city is a great place to live, because you get more bang for your buck, due to the rent and unlimited utilities. however he is right, it is going through white flight right now, where too many ------ are moving in and pushing the good people out. bottom line, its good right now, but when ------ start infecting the area, it will be no better than east new york
