Section 8 and welfare families. Roaches and mice plus rats walk the grounds from the dump across the parkway. This is a landfill and occassionally you feel the building trembling from the mini earthquakes. Rent is based on your income so if you have the misfortune to get a raise your rent is raised. Nothing like the way they advertise. The Schooling is horrible because the delinquents from east new york are bussed in. Please dont ever think about this place. Its the old Starrett City. Dont let anyone fool you into thinking your safe. The rent a cops they have patrolling are to me just as scary as the criminals you encounter in the elevators. Your car is not safe in the garages and my battery was stolen umpteenth times from my car in broad daylight. Enough said.

I totally agree with you. I was waiting for an interview for an apartment and roaches started coming out of the heating unit. Then, because I had one late payment on my credit report the interviewer said I did not qualify because of my credit. As I was walking into the rental office there was a bunch of thugs hanging outside the rental office. I knew then that this place was not for me.

my husband and i were thinging about relocating back to starrett city. upon reading your reviews which we find very negative we will think twice about it. for the rents being charged there, changes need to be made.

Number one and say this with respect to responses of section 8 people. That is the problem right there to categorized everyone as one instead of an individual now I am a section 8 tenant and a very hard working parent for one of the best hospitals in brooklyn and I have been in neighborhoods with other race besides the area of starett city and the fact remains that we have a lot of nasty people that comes in all shape, forms, colors, and origins. Thanks.

I am happy I was able to influence some people from making a huge mistake. Plus I'd like to know....How unfair is it, that the section 8 thugs get the apartments at the asking, but normal people who have a little bit of a issue on their credit reports are being told they are not worthy??? I mean come on!! Anyway its a blessing in disguise. If they didnt rent to you because your credit wasnt worthy, better for you, they did you a favor. Be well and good luck!!!

Please, give me a break! I'm paying for you to have section 8 while you work for one of the best hospitals in Brooklyn. So don't give me that "I live with all race" crap. GET OFF SECTION 8 FIRST, THEN TALK OR MAKE A SOUND COMMENT
