Finally moved OUT!

I was in Kensington Village for 2.5 years. At first the space and price made it worth it. But after awhile, I got sick of no parking, having my car broken into, poor (if any) maintenance, no heat, etc.
It took me two months to have my fridge replaced when the freezer broke. I went three days without heat in the winter of 04 because maintenance didn't have the right part. They offered me a space heater... which didn't heat the apartment, but DID jack up my electric bill over $30 that month.
I complained every single month about the poor lighting in the hallways and the basement. I rarely ever came home at night to a lit entrance. The parking lot was dark and unsafe. Basement entrances were dark, dirty and often snowed in. The basement was always dark, wet and reeked of trash.
After I finally gave my notice to move out, I had to fight the office to give me a final rent amount due. After I paid the amount they gave me, they started sending me past due notices for a differnet amount! I have been out for over 6 weeks now, and still have not received my security deposit! I was told I could pick it up last Saturday...so I drove 2 hours in a snow storm - only to get there and find that they closed the office early! I was NOT amused.
If you need a cheap place to live - this may fit the bill. But - be aware of the negetive aspects of living here before you sign a lease! It's not worth it!
