Don't live here. It's cheap but not worth it.

I have been living in Kensington Village for a long time. I mean really long time - 7 years. It went from nice place to hell in the past 7 years. The first 5 years weren't so bad. I had a lot of friends living in this complex. I have to say things getting tough. My car was stolen twice from the Parking lot. I have police reports- it was stolen twice from the parking. I heard a lot of stories like this. My hubbi's coworker came to the holiday's party at our friend's apartment here. Her car was stolen. It was awful. I felt so bad for the host family. They were so shocked and embarassed. This year, the management has made some improvements to make it safe. One thing they did was to instll the security lock at the entrance. However, you have to drive to central location to get your mail. It's Buffalo. The mailbox was frozen and in the past three days, we still couldn't get our mail box open. By the way, You have to drive to dumpster to get rid of your trash. They only have two dumpsters for over 800 apartments.
My biggest convern is the safety. Since they installed the security lock by the entrance without peekhole. My husband opened the door when someboby rang our doorbell at 8:00PM. There was a guy asking for MONEY!. It never happened before. We gave him some quarters and he wasn't happy. After that night, we started to look for the house. I am so glad we are going to move out in Jan. or Feb. Bye-Bye, Kensington.
I know a lot of UB students living here because it's cheap and convenient. Unless you really can't afford to live other places. Don't come here. You have to prepare for the worst. I am serious.
