Location, Location, Location...

I lived at the Mayflower for almost two years and still think of it as one of the best places I've ever lived. It's a block from the subway, on several major bus lines, within a two block radius of all the 'necessity shopping' you need, a leisurely (and historically beautiful) walking distance from downtown, Allentown and several parks. Of course, it was also a major bonus to have a penthouse apartment with a skyline view (Friday night fireworks were the BEST!)

For those of us that are 'anti-automobile', this location is ideal. During the few times that I did need to deal with parking, there was ample street spaces on Linwood.

While the building lacked a few of the modern conveniences, I felt that the historical charm more than made up for it. I think that a bit of restoration would make the building a jewel, but as it is, it is well maintained.

Security is superb (as I can attest to, during a short period when I had lost my keys... if you don't have a key, you are NOT getting in!! Neighbors are friendly and watch out for each other)

All in all, it was a financially reasonable version of 'life on Delaware Ave'
