I lived in Sheldon apartments for a year and I generally liked it. Although the building is older, I thought it was well maintained and had no real maintenence issues in the apartment. I agree with one of the other posts that I could rarely hear noise from my neighbors on my floor but due to the hardwood floors I could hear EVERYTHING from my neighbors upstairs. The location was great near Elmwood and downtown but between fighting for a parking spot everyday on the street (not to mention the alternate parking and having to switch the car to a different side of the street 2x a week) and listening to every step, yell, and running dog of my upstairs neighbor, it was enough that I wasn't planning on extending my lease.

So my only cons were upstairs neighbors and parking, which may or may not be a problem depending on the apartment and if you get a ($65/month) parking space.

Pros-generally nice staff, well maintained older building, on site laundry, no additional fee for my cat (but I think there is for dogs), good location, heat included (you pay gas for the stove and electricty)


**Edit** I wanted to add that I lived there for 1 year, I did not work there since other posts have said the good reviews are probably from employees. I moved out of state and I miss living in that location in Downtown Buffalo. There are I think 4 different buildings on the property so maybe mine was maintained better than the others since it was only 1 bedroom apartments.
