My previous post was a 1-week post, so I decided that I'd give a 7-month report to see if anything changed. The apartment is still relatively quiet (with your TV/radio off, you can hear your neighbor's), with one exception being the extremely obnoxious skateboarders that are right outside of the apartment building pretty much 24hrs a day (can't wait for snow to hit).
We were told 2 things by the manager when we first moved in that are now mysteriously different. There was no pet deposit listed and we were told we could paint as long as we painted it back to sanitarium white when we left. The building owner told me the other that we shouldn't have painted....uhhhh...maybe your manager should've known that' There was also a problem with tiny ants that wouldn't go away for a long time, and now mysteriously we received a note in our mailbox that a $500 pet deposit for 2 cats is due...hmmmm... It seems that if you ask for service in this building, you get hassled and strong-armed.
There is also a problem with cigarette smoke being sucked into our apartment from neighbors that leave their doors open, but if you are a smoker I guess you wouldn't care (me I don't like lung cancer...). Car was broken into, luckily insurance paid for everything.
The only good recent change is the addition of a restaurant on the bottom floor, which probably won't last long anyway because of the prices.
