Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007
When we first moved in it was a quick decision since we were moving from 5 hrs away.
I had one day to locate an apartment when I was in town.
The apartment was clean and nice. I had new appliances. We asked for a quiet building since we are professionals. Also I am disabled and asked for a disabled parking space by the door which they did provide. We also moved in with free water and free heat. The rent was a little higher then other places but it was of better quality at the time.
Over these 2 years our rent has gone up alot plus now they added fees. We have to pay a fee for water and a fee for our heat. The water fee is very high for just 2 people. Last bill was almost $50 for 3 months. Singles are paying the same amount as well as families that have 5 people in one apartment. Seems fair to me. NOT!
Now more families with kids have moved in this unit. We now have kids running, yelling and banging doors in the halls. They rather play in the halls then go outside. I have complained since the summer of 07 about this situation. They claim they will do something but as of this writing nothing has been done. It has become an expensive tenement. Some tenants leave their apartment doors open and consider the hall area an extension of their apartments. Their kids play out there and we get to listen too all the yelling and horrid smell of their cooking.
Outside they throw egg shells and from other tenants there can be beer bottles throw off the balconies. People just throw garbage where they want. They have no respect for anyone's property
As one other person wrote you do hear all the noise from the apartment next door
or above you. The floors do squeak alot. You can tell where people are in the apartment as well in the bathroom. Not too much real privacy.
Now for my handicap parking space..The space it not up to code so it can not be enforced by the local police. I have to police the area myself. People think well they can park there when they want. The Police said that management will have to police the spot. Which of course they don't..When I confront people I am told where I can go and I sometimes fear for my safety.. There is just not enough parking for people here. Most apartments have 2 cars per unit and there are not enough spaces for them.
As for crime here. I have not experience that. But it took them 2 years to change the burned out light on my balcony. I thought it never worked. Since they have went and replaced all the outside lights the units are better lit.
I never used the pool, computer room, or exercise room. I have no need for them. To me a waste in complexes like these.
I am looking to move out of this place. I want a washer and dryer in the unit and I all these fee are too much. They are putting fees on everything. It is true the dryers do not dry your clothes in 60 minutes. I spend $40 a month just on washing and drying clothes here.
Since I am so new to this area I have no idea where the good apartment complexes are. These rents they want are too high since housing is going down. You can buy a house for much less. Which I would do but I don't think I will be in this area for another 5 years
You should also know Idlywood was sold about year ago. It is fairly new management. We have a new manager also named Cindy like the old one
Anyone know of any great places to live'' LOL
