I lived at Foxwood for one year, and that was one year too many! DCG is a ruthless company that's only out to make money and cares nothing about their tennants. I had numerous problems living here, including:

- Horrible snow removal, which resulted in several occasions where I had to get a neighbor to help me push my car into a spot that was clogged with snow. The parking lots and stairs were never adequately salted, and myself and several of the people in my building had nasty falls because of the ice.

- Very poor lighting in the parking lots and NO lighting at all along the main driveway. This is definitely not the place you want to live if you want to feel safe taking a walk at night!

- Extremely slow response to maintenance issues. One night my air conditioning broke and I woke up to find my heat blasting and the thermostat at 90 degrees in my apartment. I called the so-called "emergency" maintenance line and was told to call back in the morning when the regular maintenance crew was in. So I opened all my windows and basically had to "sweat it out" (no joke!) until I could get someone from maintenance to come fix it. Unbelievable!

- The RUDEST and most UNINTELLIGENT office staff imaginable. I needed to leave my lease one month early and was told by the rental office that they would try to find someone to move in to my apartment early, and if they could do that, I wouldn't have to pay the last month's rent. They ended up finding someone who could move in on the 15th, so they told me that I was responsible for half of the last month's rent. But rather than letting me pay 1/2 of my rent payment, they made me pay the FULL month's rent up-front, and said they would reimburse me when the new tennants moved in. I SPECIFICALLY asked for a receipt or written guarantee that I would be reimbursed, but they refused. So I went ahead and paid, and of course they never sent me back my $300. I ended up having a lawyer call the office manager on my behalf, and they told her that I was a "problem" tennant, and they never promised to reimburse me anything. Surprise, surprise! Leave it to DCG to twist words around and refuse to honor a promise.

DEFINITELY stay away from renting at Foxwood or any other DCG property. Try Shaker Run in Colonie instead. Beautiful apartments and a very friendly and helpful rental office staff. What a difference that makes!
