Where do I start' Apartment manager is so nice until you sign the lease then she turns into Satan's step-child! Rest of the office staff is very rude and inconsiderate.
A great idea which I did was use a camcorder to record the empty apartment..all the damage and stains on the carpet. Then mail yourself a COPY of the tape so the postmark is on it to prove that is when you shot the tape...keep the envelope sealed! Have the other copy in your possession in case you need it. Then re-record the apartment when you move out because if you are foolish enough to rent from them, you will need it when you have to take them to court!
Getting things fixed was next to impossible. I paid for a washer/dryer and my washer kept breaking. I had no washer the last 3 months because supposedly they were waiting for a part, which I do not believe. So I paid for that and didn't get use out of it.
My kitchen cupboards were old and damaged and the bathroom tub was cracked...was promised before I signed they would be replaced. After signing went to move in and they were not done. I called the office and they said they never promised such a thing and would not replace them.
I lived right above the apartment manager who had 2 dogs herself. Policy was that you were to immediately clean up your dogs messes. She NEVER cleaned up and made the humid summer days unbearable with dog crap stench!
Snow removal is a joke.
I was actually going to resign into a different apartment...then without asking, they told me they were moving me to a different apartment and were going to increase rent due to 9/11-how unamerican to use that as an excuse!..I refused and became a big battle and had to call my lawyer. I think he is the only reason I got 90% of my deposit back. Otherwise, I know others who have lost their entire deposits for reasons that make no sense! Glad I am not them!
I would say as far as management goes, they are the WORST and are running a HUGE scam!My guess is the posts of people who love it here could be some kind of damage control by the rental office themselves!
I will never rent anything owned by DCG again.
