Like many others, I chose to move in to Foxwood because I needed a place that took pets. However, I have encountered problems that no one will deal with. I was told when renting NO WASHERS OR DRIERS in "luxury apartments" anymore. So, fine, I'm paying $20 extra a month and have to lug laundry across town (or to a neighboring building where I can try to use one of the three machines shared by all those tenants.) When upstairs tenants moved out and cleaning was done up there, I received a call at work telling me my apartment had been flooded while they were flushing out the washing machine upstairs. What' Maintenance workers came in and mopped up the major damage, but I was left with water stains and mildew and told it would be repaired. Three weeks later, I came home to MORE flooding because workers "forgot" the upstairs washer didn't work. When I asked office staff about their "no laundry" machine policy (when clearly some apartments are actually furnished with them) I was told that I "misunderstood." What they actually meant was no washers downstairs. Oh, yeah. That makes no sense. Then they blamed maintenance for the problem and maintenance blamed management. After yet another week I submitted a request for maintenance due to much mildew in two closets and terrible water stains on bedroom ceiling. All I've been offered is an apology for the "inconvenience" and no phone call from maintenance to set up repair time (which was promised when flooding #2 took place.) As a former landlord and homeowner, I find this extremely frustrating. But as long as I'm mailing my rent to New Jersey (ever heard of "absentee landlords"') I'm sure this problem won't be resolved until I move out. And at that time, I'm sure they'll find a way to blame my cats and me for all the damage and keep the two security deposits I paid to repair all the damage.
