I have lived in Hollandale since September 2003. I plan on leaving when my lease is up for a few different reasons (not all of which pertain to the apartments themselves, it's just a personal preference).

Office Staff: extremely friendly, know you by name and apartment if you get to know them (that has been my experience anyhow).

Maintenance: I only needed to call once - I called from work one afternoon and by the time I got home a few hours later they had already come and fixed the problem - minor problem with garbage disposal.

Setting/Building: My building is fairly quiet. I live on the top-floor so noise may not be as big an issue up there. Didn't find plumbing to be noisy although that may be a top-floor thing too.
COMPLAINT: My bedroom in the winter was always freezing cold, no matter how high the heat was on. The living room/kitchen would be really warm and my bedroom would still be COLD. There were drafts in the windows, and often times there'd be condensation on the window inside. It is now getting warmer and when I turned the AC on the other night it barely did anything to cool the place off.

The building is nice, layout is spacious. I do not like the laundry facility. After a full run in the dryer, my clothes are NEVER dry. Some apartment complexes use a card for the laundry that you can load money onto. I'd recommend a place like that because quarter machines are nothing but a hassle.

Overall I am enjoying my time at hollandale but will probably move on to something a little more my style. It is in a great location with access to EVERYTHING.

I second all that you have to say! I moved into Hollandale in the fall of 2004. Seems like I got the apt you vacated! It's now 2006 and the dryer still doesn't dry clothes after two runs through sometimes!!! I'd say its time to upgrade to better washer & dryers! Or don't advertise that you have laundry facilities if they are below standard! Not to mention that the floor is barely kept clean. The garbage disposal... don't even get me started! Yuck is all I have to say! Anything you put in there ends up in the dishwasher! Don't plan on bringing more than one TV to your apt at Hollandale because there is only one cable jack and thats in the living room! You will have to run a cable all the way to the bedroom if you happen to want cable in there. No thanks, that will look like hell! Also, its no big deal today with digital phone but there is no phone jack in the bedroom either. Sometimes you just assume that those things would be in place in todays times and just don't look at the time to check them out when your are looking at apts to rent. Things like the blast from the past 70's bathroom you can see and say "Well, I'll deal with it since everything else seems pretty nice." But just a little reminder to check it all out first. Overall, Hollandale's been a pretty descent place to live. The grounds are kept up, the staff has been pretty good and well its safe and in a nice handy area. I would recommend the complex for someone looking in the Clifton Park area, I'd say the rent is a little high, but have you seen the complexes that are cheaper!? I'd pick here first!
