Whenever you call for anything.

Notices are placed inside each building (almost weekly)with new regulations and expectations. At one point in the past year, one was posted that specified that tenants were not permitted to "throw a football" on the lawn by the apartments. Heaven forbid a tenant would like to play catch with a friend, relative, or neighbor.

The floor plans are nice, and the location is excellent. The pond and scenery is very relaxing.

After 2 years of being exemplary tenants, certain staff made us feel as though "we were troubling them and wasting their time." After we moved out, we noticed that they took portions of our security deposit as "fees." They would not give us the time of day over the phone.

If you do decide to move in, be VERY certain to take your time and inspect every inch of the apartment. Put your findings in writing so they don't become your problem and responsibility.

By the way... They will be VERY nice to you when they show you the apartments. Afterward' Not so much.

Sounds like a bunch of sour grapes to me. Over past several years I have never experienced any problems with the staff. Most notices I have seen only refer to rules and regs as found in the lease agreement. I am sure if you were "exemplary" tenants you would not have had the problems you describe, expecially partial withholding of part of your security deposit.

I agree with Jim71. I lived here about 2 years ago and when I left, I cleaned the apartment as I would normally - nothing unusual and I received my ENTIRE security deposit back. There are always two sides to the story....like Paul Harvey would say - "and now you know the rest of the story..." I have returned and I am really enjoying my stay this time too. Keep up the good work Hollandale!!

Get over it DanMHS84. You live(d) in a community with other individuals and families. The office staff always has to keep in mind safety and others. Regarding deposits. I can not belive what people leave behind. Just the other day a staffer was cleaning out a recently vacated apt and the amount of trash was awful. Then if the tenant smokes they have to paint and clean more so then normally. I've been here since 03 and love it.

To everyone above, our rent was always on time, we made no noise, are neighbors liked us, and we were excellent tenants. My gripe is with certain unfriendly members of the Hollandale staff. I am totally over it Mustangs. You have no clue how much time we spent cleaning. The apartment was empty and clean from the floors to the ceiling. To potential renters: Please notice how a select few users on this website pile on to anyone who had bad experiences Hollandale. If you all love it, great. Don't criticize me for leaving an honest review.

I have lived here over 12 years and have dealt with the same staff (says a lot for an establishment when you can deal with the same people and they know your name) I have never has a problem with them, they have always been kind and polite and my problems have always been addressed. i would like to hear management's response to your claims. I bet it is an entirely different story.

Obviously, you are not leaving an honest review, I agree with the above posters. would of liked to see your version of clean and if you paid on time. I have lived here also on more than one occasion. The staff has always been very kind, delivering packages when I was hurt, even their notary came to my apt. when I was having trouble getting around.I have come to know many people here over the years,even have contact with some who have moved on, they have all been treated fairly, if you had deductions from your security you had it coming.

The staff is great especially Lois. As for security deposits not getting back thats why you pay a security in first place. When you live somewhere for period of time things happen, things need to be replaced and things need upkeep. They have always been very helpful. I am moving the end of July, not because I want to because I have to. But I have to say the women in the office are wonderful, and I can't even begin to say how wonderful Lois is. I went through a very tough time back in febuary, not only did Losi speak to me with words of encouragement but she sent me a card as well. There was also a instance when my brother in law had passed out with small children in the apartment due to his diabetes, she went to his apartment and sat with the kids as my sister who was working called for an amulance for him. Did she have to do those things? NO but she did. I can't see how everyone gets up in arms about the staff. They are wonderful women who take the time for the tenants, why? because they enjoy what they doo

Just so you are all aware, Hollandale employees are the ones who wrote the majority of the above responses "Lois." I am DISGUESTED with Hollandale. It is a sad excuse of an apartment complex and they will try to get every penny out of you. BEWARE!
